About us

We started in mid-2019 as a group of early career stage philosophers interested in creating side careers in science education, communication, policy, and engagement. This group was our effort to scaffold our path and connect resources. Shortly after launching the network in Nov 2019, we won a small grant from the American Philosophical Association to build our community via a flipped, hybrid international workshop in 2020. The pandemic dashed these plans. To adapt to the circumstances, we used the funds to continue an interview series.

Currently, we are reassessing ideas to build a truly useful community for philosophers to enter science communication and for science communicators to engage with philosophy of science. If you're interested in co-creating a community of philscicomm-ers, please do not hesitate to contact us!
